63. Denney - Away from the club volume 2
July 18, 2013 09:12 AM PDT
Denney....................Please enjoy "Away from the club volume 2", another compilation of weird and wonderful tracks i listen to in my own time which are not really aimed at the dancefloor but to enjoy maybe whilst travelling, chilling on a beach or unwinding on a sunday evening. Volume 2 is inspired by the great/random places i have found myself in over the last couple of years including deserts, beaches and festival fields. I hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed putting it together!
Dedicated to: Everyone and everything, including those who no longer are with us. A special mention to my new godson Archer James Coleran
1. A Guy Called Gerald feat. Jennifer Neal "The Universe"
May 31, 2013 09:08 AM PDT
Harry McCanna....................Who it is dedicated to - I'd have to say it's dedicated to the group of friends that introduced me to djing. At the time i was playing drums in a band with some mutual friends and didn't really have any idea about the world of mixing. Now i couldn't really imagine it not being a part of my life. So this is really a thank you to the guys that showed me the way!
61. Dick Cosmic - Music for Ems

Dick Cosmic....................Back on the scene with another mix about love. This mix is dedicated to my wife to be, Emily. May our life together be full of love, laughter, friends and music. xxx
60... Lee Hume - Spreading Clouds Vol.1
February 10, 2013 10:36 AM PST
Lee Hume....................Each time I mix, I try to convey some feelings and create a path for the listener to follow and get on board with. I had loads of fun doing something not for the club and it's ended up saving me on many a long journey, post-party and eased me to sleep countless times.
Really I suppose it goes out to those that have inspired me along the way, believed in me put up with my ramblings or danced with me; be them friends, family or the unknown characters you see out and about!
Hopefully this is a sequence that's easy tune in to, regardless of your tastes and will bring a similar pleasure to the listener(s), hitting their spot. Thanks for taking the time to listen... enjoy!
Au - Sleep
59... Foz - Slowdown Sounds Mix
December 17, 2012 03:41 AM PST
Foz....................Gonna dedicate this to Jonny Collins cos i love him
I've always loved Pete Willy's Music for friends and i've listened to all the podcasts, a lot of the mixes we play in Distrikt in the daytime to the point where i know them inside out, i always prefer the ones where people are playing outside the box, Subb An, Buckley, Despo, Jacob, Frenchy, Shelton's, Danielle, Bakers and one i really liked was James Barnsley's and from listening to that it has led to me and him starting are own little night called Slowdown Sounds, so this is a mix to reflect that i guess. It's the first mix i've recorded in 13 years, lack of confidence to put things out maybe, I wanted to record it live and mixing so many different styles, funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, chill out and old tunes with live drums and changing BPM's is never going to be perfect and theres a little scratch in Brick House but fuck it! hope you like it ! 1. Pharcyde - Otha fish
58... Mikey Brain - Power Hour
November 05, 2012 03:23 AM PST
Mikey Brain....................This is the first of a selection of mixes I have wanted to make for a couple of years. I am loving having a set up again and have been devoting more time, money and effort to searching out and playing tunes I love. Hope you enjoy.
This mix is dedicated to my good friend and cosmic knowledge seeking brother from another Duncan 'Despo' Wilson. Your strength and resilience is inspiring. Much love<3
Audiofly - Love Is A Drug Feat. Robert Owens
57... Nick Smith aka eyesfront - It's all in the eyes
April 30, 2012 03:52 AM PDT
eyesfront....................When I make a mix, the most important thing for me is to try and tell a story. Create a journey for the listener, bring them up, bring them down, send them somewhere.
I love music that you can instantly connect with. Gives you a feeling, makes you smile, invokes an image or colour in your mind. Takes you to places you’ve never been to. Maybe even back to a particular time and place…Whether it be in a smoke filled back room at Cream back in 94 with Paul Bleasdale at the helm. Being in a rammed Bollywood tent at Bestival or an idyllic boat party in Croatia.
In this mix I’ve used tracks that currently are taking me to places, hopefully they will do the same for you.
So I guess this mix is dedicated to all the people who keep me inspired and addicted to this wonderful evolving scene and its culture that is ours.
Peace & Love

55... Paolo Riozzi - Music Therapy Mix
February 17, 2012 09:19 AM PST
Paolo....................On the 1st April i will be running the Reading Half Marathon for Nordoff Robins Music Therapy charity.
54... Ernest - Can you hear that?
December 13, 2011 10:27 AM PST
Ernest....................The Daft punk, Andrew Weatherall & Dave Angel essential mixes from 90s are next level. A lot of the EMs from that time are amazing. They were all so energetic (& fast!), when you get to the end of them you can tell the DJ put a lot into it. You also had no idea what track was coming next! So this mix is in the style of those old EMs; a pacey house mix, which I put a lot of energy into whilst digging through my records for the rarer stuff as well as some classics. I chucked a couple of tracks in from the Dave Angel & Weatherall EM " class="emote_img" />
Coming at you each time from those spaces between spaces. Be it beats to bump you into outer-space or a tonic of grooves to sooth your inner-space. Let Dick be your guide as we take a rocket ride through space and time............
Looking to the present and to the future with love. Here is our gift, our music, for you, our friends.
